Box is a cloud content management and collaboration platform serving individuals and enterprises worldwide. With a vast and diverse user base, the brand needed a flexible illustration system that could communicate ideas clearly across multiple contexts—ranging from product interfaces to marketing campaigns—while retaining a consistent and recognizable voice.
The illustration system was designed to bridge functionality and brand personality, ensuring that visuals could be both practical and expressive. By creating scalable tiers of illustration, the system allows Box to adapt seamlessly from simple in-app icons to more detailed, narrative-driven storytelling. This approach not only supports usability and clarity but also reinforces Box’s identity as modern, approachable, and globally accessible.
